Bovey House, Conservation of an Existing Hotel to Private Dwelling

The contract involved converting a Grade 2 listed hotel into a private dwelling for the Estates Management Trust, Clinton Devon Estates.

The works throughout the contract included:

• Stone cleaning, repairs and new cut / dressed stone
• Lead window restoration
• Lime finishes
• Bespoke joinery carried out by Skinner Joinery our in-house joinery department
• Specialist decorative finishes throughout
• Flint walling with lime mortar
• Specialist lead work
• Conservation works throughout the contract
• Slate roofing repairs

On this contract Skinner Construction Ltd worked closely together with a specialist conservation architect to procure a contract that required specialist traditional building skills and methods to restore this Grade 2 listed building to its traditional form.
